“Pollution? What pollution?
Myself, my ancestors, and many families around us have been dependent on this river for many generations. We are healthy, we have no problems. How can you say our mother is polluted?”
After a short pause, he continues by saying: “The problem is all in your mind.”
This conversation took place in Zamania, a village in Uttar Pradesh, where myself, Alex, and our team made the overnight stop. During this journey, I realized that everything starts with us, from our homes, from our parents, from how we observe what surrounds us. We have to fight many things to save our river, our plants, our ocean, our Nature, but all it takes is a clean head with a determined soul.
The journey started by Alex is not only his journey, but it is also our entire journey and whether it’s Noah’s Ark or Alex’s handmade raft, we’re all in the same boat.
